Christmas Round 1, 2, 3 4 and 5

Originally, I wanted to post each Christmas celebration separately, however since it has taken so long to actually write about Christmas and upload pictures, I decided to combine all 5 celebrations into 1 post.  :)

1. December 18: This past weekend we celebrated Christmas with both sides of Chris' family.  Saturday we celebrated with our Indianapolis family, while Sunday was reserved for North Vernon. Saturday Aunt Vickie, Uncle Vince, Aunt Hollie, Aunt Diane and our cousins Ben, Nathalie, Savannah and Roger all ventured down from Indianapolis to celebrate Christmas with us.  We don't get the opportunity to see them very often, so it was so nice to celebrate with them and introduce Camryn to a few of them for the first time.

2.  Sunday we went to North Vernon where all of the Kanes were able to gather together at Chris' grandparent's house and celebrate.  We were able to open presents, eat our traditional pizza for dinner and catch up with one another.  Although the weekend was packed full of fun family festivities, we enjoyed every second of it!

3.  Christmas Eve was pretty laid back and enjoyable this year. In the past, we have packed in last minute shopping, Christmas Eve church service and our family get-together all in what seemed to be a very short day.  This year Cammie and I wrapped some last minute presents and caught up on the DVR all day.  It was pretty fabulous! :)  Later in the evening we went to my Aunt Tammy's to celebrate with my dad's side of the family.  Everyone enjoyed the traditional sausage balls (among other delicious goodies :), playing cards, opening presents and watching the first episode of A Christmas Story (still LOVE that movie!) from the marathon.  Cammie was a tad spoiled by her Great Granny, Aunt Tammy and Aunt Cindy...look at all her goodies! :)

Cammie and her goodies...she must have been awfully good this year!

4.  Christmas Day is truly one of my favorite days of the year.  Chris continues to tell me we are are going to have to slow down and begin some of our own traditions, now that our precious Cammie is here, but I LOVE how jam-packed our day is of family and fun!  We began our day opening presents at home.  Santa brought Cammie a few fun toys, but her Aunt Chrissie, Nana and Pop, Grandma and Grandpa and other relatives bought so many things for her, he didn't have much left to get! :)

After presents at home, the three of us (plus the puppies...thank you Nana and Pop...they REALLY appreciated not having to stay home all alone on Christmas day!) ventured to my mom and dad's for breakfast.  One thing I do miss about being at home is my dad's breakfast.  He makes the BEST biscuits and gravy and definitely did not disappoint today! Even the dogs were able to enjoy some scrambled eggs for their Christmas breakfast. :)  After we ate, we headed downstairs to open presents.  Everyone must have been very good this year, because we all received some nice things!  Dad was so excited to get his portable t.v., mom was very surprised to find her Ipad, while my brother Nick was ecstatic to get his new T.V. for his room.  Cammie, Chris and I got portable DVD players for our Myrtle Beach trip in July and Cammie got tons of new toys to play with at our house and Nana's.  Next, we went to Chris' mom and dad's house to celebrate with them.  Although Cammie can sure be difficult, her grandma and grandpa must really love her....they got her a zoo membership and a bouncer to play with when Cammie visits there during the week. We enjoyed watching A Christmas Story, eating some yummy sandwiches, Chick-Fil-A chicken strips and playing new games with the rest of the family.  At the end of the day I took Cammie back to my mom and dad's so mom could spend some time with us before she had to go to work, while Chris stayed and enjoyed more quality time with his family.  I always hate going home on Christmas night, because it is like admitting the holiday season is over....wish I could make Christmas day last for about a week straight!!!

Merry Christmas Camryn! Can you tell she just woke up :)

5.  December 30, 2010:  Finally we were able to enjoy Christmas with my grandpa and Cammie's great grandpa.  My papaw is one of the sharpest, spunkiest men I know....especially for a man that is 92.  I just love my papaw and definitely have not spent enough quality time with him since Cammie was born.  Due to his condition (he is a World War II veteran who was shot in the leg by a German machine gun and can no longer walk), he lives is an assisted living facility.  Camryn's doctor advised us not to take Camryn to the facility until she is 6 months old, due to lack of vaccinations and germs; therefore we just don't get to see him near as often as I would like. :(  Mom and dad were both off this past week, so we arranged to have lunch and celebrate Christmas on Thursday. When we walked in with Cammie my papaw's eyes just lit up!  He was so excited to see her and could not believe how much she had grown.  You should have seen that proud great grandpa...he had her picture on the table and talked about her with anyone who walked by. :)  She returned the love to him by flashing her big smile every time he talked to her. He just melts my heart with her....love him so much!!!  Here are the two of the together! :)
She thinks he is too funny...such a cute picture!

Such a big kid! He LOVES opening presents! (Can you see Cammie's picture he has on the table...he also loves showing her off :)

We are so truly blessed on both sides of our families and the holidays are such wonderful reminders of that!  Whew....that was a super long post, but I think I captured as much as I could!
