8 months

At 8 months old Camryn....
  • wears anywhere from 6 to 12 months in clothes... Camryn is ALL over the place when it comes to sizes (aren't all girls???).  She mostly wears 9 months in clothes, but has graduated to 12 month short sleeve and pants pajamas.  The baby sleepers are just never long enough in the size that she should be wearing, not to mention she is always hot....the warmer weather has allowed for some short sleeves and pants which we ALL seem to love!
  • wears a size 3 diaper (4 at night time)
  • wears a 2/3 shoe....can wear both sizes depending on the shoe
  • unofficially weights 20 pounds (had an unofficial weigh-in at the doctor when we were there for her allergies....she still had all of her clothes, diaper and shoes on :)
  • loves to blow raspberries :)
  • still eats 3 "meals" a day: flavored cereal in the morning, cereal and fruit or vegetables for lunch and cereal and fruit or vegetables for dinner
  • drinks 3 or 4 bottles per day (depending on how early she gets up :)
  • is learning to love drinking from her cup
  • still loves the jumper....especially when mom and dad say "go, go, go"  she jumps higher and higher :)
  • is so, sO, SO close to crawling....rocks back and forth up on her knees, crawls backwards, but hasn't made the forward crawling progression yet...we know it will be any day!
  • loves standing and bouncing....this is how we sometimes keep her occupied in church :)
  • is LOVING the snacks she is now able to eat....I think we have created a monster with the Gerber Cinnamon Maple sticks! (mom cringes with these sometimes, because they are SO messy!)
  • is very nosy (she gets this honestly from her mom) and an attention diva (she just doesn't understand if someone walks past her and doesn't acknowledge her...she even cries sometimes...I'm telling you she is a total MESS!
.....but a mess that we are in love with!  We love you Camryn Marie!

    Happy Easter

Camryn with her new car from mom and dad...love the face! :)

Camryn's first Easter was a perfect day filled with SO many blessings!   We actually began our Easter celebration Saturday night with Nick and Chrissie.  We went to church (so happy Northside has Saturday services as our Easter day was packed full of family fun!) and then had dinner at Longhorn.  Chrissie was the first to spoil Cammie with Easter goodies, buying Bambi to add to her Disney movie collection and a new Cinderelly bow.
Easter morning we headed up to Chris' aunt's house bright and early for a delicious breakfast of homemade cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit.  We had planned to capture a few pictures of Cammie-bear with the new duckies at Bug's house, but the weather got in the way of our plans.  Silly rain! :(  Aunt Bug couldn't resist taking a few inside shots, which mom absolutely LOVES, so we did end up with a few pictures of C!  After breakfast we headed to Chris' grandparent's house to eat lunch and see all of his aunts and uncles.  Chris' dad's side of the family is pretty big, so getting everyone together at the same time can sometimes be a very difficult task.  Easter is one of the few holidays we celebrate with Chris' family on the actual day so we were happy we had a few hours to celebrate with everyone!

Finally, we ended our Easter fun at my grandma's house enjoying some quality time with Granny and Aunt Tammy.  Granny and Tammy loved on Cammie and spoiled her rotten.  Granny found C a Mickey Mouse book complete with a toy guitar that makes music (this is now one of C's favorite toys!) and Tammy had been on the Minnie/Mickey Mouse search as she compiled an entire Minnie Mouse themed Easter basket for our munchkin.  Camryn got a multitude of Mouse gifts including new sippy cups, silverware, a new plate, coloring book, crayons, cell phone (that plays The Hot Dog song :), bibs, stuffed Minnie, socks, beach chair and much, MUCH more!  She is rotten!

Camryn's Minnie Mouse Easter Basket :)
Look how happy she is....she knows what's inside! :)

By the end of the day Camryn Marie was worn out!  She had stripped out of her dress and was D*O*N*E (I'm sure falling out of her new chair did not help....hated to even write that on here, but you want to remember the good, bad and ugly memories right!?!?).  The three of us are so lucky and have an amazing family!  Thank you to Nana, Pop, Grandma, Grandpa, Tammy, Granny, Papaw, Aunt Bug, Chrissie, Nick and ALL of our family members for all that you do!  Camryn is so loved by so many amazing people! We are truly a blessed family!

    Yeah toast!!!

Cammie decided to join her mom and dad for breakfast this morning (we are trying to get in the habit of eating at the table again...I know that sounds so crazy, but especially during baseball season life is so crazy we just get in a bad habit of eating on the couch or standing at the counter :(  She enjoyed her first piece of toast while I ate cereal and Chris ate eggs and toast.  To say she loved it was an understatement....she thought she was big stuff eating real food. She is a mess!

    Yummy! :)

    Allergies

Allergies have hit our house HARD this year! :(  Cammie and I have been a mess this week dealing with puffy eyes, runny noses, coughing, sneezing....you name it!  Her symptoms seemed to get worse as the week went on, so we headed to the doctor on Thursday to make sure her ear pulling wasn't anything serious.  Dr. Morgan checked her out and said her ears and throat looked great (Thank goodness!) and the splotchiness under her eyes, on her face and little bit on her thighs is just a reaction her sensitive skin is having to the allergies.  We started Claritin on Thursday and hope the pollens, mold, etc. calm down in the next few weeks so she can be off it and back to her old self!

    Swing, swing, swing

Today, Chris and I decided to take Cammie to the park so she could swing for the very first time.  We planned to take her after church and lunch early this afternoon, but she fell asleep on the way. :(  Once Camryn woke up from her nap we decided to try again!  Although Camryn has not been in the best mood this weekend, she was quite a fan of the swing!  She laughed and laughed as she went back and forth.

    Love this face....

    Camryn and her daddy

    So fun! :)

Sidenote: As I was thinking of a title for this post my favorite song from church popped into my head, "Sing, sing, sing and make music with the heavens....we will sing, sing, sing grateful that you hear us"....Cammie used to hear that song so often when she was still in my belly...to say I LOVED to hear Mark sing that at church was an understatement....I miss him so much!

    Teeth???

Our little princess has not been herself the past few days.....after 3 days of extra fussiness, being overly tired (but not wanting to sleep by herself) and a little unhappy Chris and I think she may be working on her top teeth.  Earlier today she was chewing on a toy and when she bumped her top gum she just lost it. :(  The tears, screams and sad face were in full force!  My poor baby....I hope things get better soon!  I miss my happy girl (and I know her dad does too)!

    Fun with friends

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and head to the zoo with some of our favorite friends today.  Chrissie, Tara, Isaac, Meghan, Maddie, Camryn and I (along with the rest of Kentuckiana :) all went together and had a great time!  We enjoyed watching the sea lions, elephants, camels, giraffes, and lions enjoy the weather as well.  What a great day...makes us VERY ready for summer!

Amie, Camryn, Meghan and Maddie...we were LOVING the warm weather!

Amie, Camryn and Isaac....he is going to be such a heartbreaker...LOVE this little guy!

    Big Stuff

These days Camryn is big stuff!!  She is...

    • clapping her hands (and of course anyone around shouts, "Yay!" and claps with her)
    • waving bye-bye
    • taking big girl baths (no more baby tub)!
    • beginning to feed herself
    •

      Puffs = Yummy! :)

    • so, sO, SO close to crawling...she has the mechanics down and the strength, but hasn't yet put the two together! She can however "move" (roll, scoot, etc.) to get what or where she wants.
    • learning how to drink from a cup....each day she shows a little bit more interest in it than the day before
    • I am trying to like it...
    • going to the YMCA daycare (well she went for the first time on Thursday...loved every second of it of course...Nosy Nelly :)
    • playing by herself (for short periods of time...she would much rather you be right there! :)
Playing with my computer from the toy fairy (a.k.a Aunt Tammy :)

    BRUUUUUCE

    Cheering for Jay BRUUUUCE! :)
Baseball time has FINALLY arrived!!!  As many of you know we LOVE baseball in our house (as I told someone earlier this week I had to choose to love or hate it....baseball can be a very loooong season, so this girl chose to embrace and love it! :)

    Lovin' the Reds!

Chris' team hasn't officially started playing games, so we decided to celebrate opening weekend of baseball with The Reds!  Chris, Nick, Chrissie and I headed to Cincinnati for opening night on Saturday.  The four of us had a blast!!! Loved watching our boys in red pull out their second win and having tons of fun altogether (brought back memories of The Reds trip that linked us for life...a little sad that those kind of days are gone :(.  Unfortunately Cammie couldn't go with us (very cool and windy night, in addition to the HUGE crowd), but she wore her Red's gear proudly!

We are so, sO, SO excited to see baseball season begin...that means spring is officially here and summer is just around the corner! :)

The 3 girlies :) Go Reds!
